FONCTION COSINUS
$\forall x \in \mathbb{R},\ f(-x) = \cos(-x) = \cos x = f(x)$ donc $f$ est paire.
On choisit $[-\pi ; \pi]$.
Si $x \in [-\pi ; 0]$ alors $\sin x \le 0$ donc $-\sin x \ge 0$ donc $f'(x) \ge 0$.
Si $x \in [0 ; \pi]$ alors $\sin x \ge 0$ donc $-\sin x \le 0$ donc $f'(x) \le 0$.

COSINE FUNCTION
Definition 1: We call cosine function, noted cos, the function defined on $\mathbb{R}$ by $x \mapsto \cos x$.
Property 1: The cosine function is differentiable on $\mathbb{R}$ such that: $\forall x \in \mathbb{R},\ \cos'(x) = -\sin x$.
Study of the function $f:x \mapsto \cos x$
Parity:
$\forall x \in \mathbb{R},\ f(-x) = \cos(-x) = \cos x = f(x)$ so $f$ is even.
Periodicity:
$\forall x \in \mathbb{R},\ f(x+2\pi) = \cos(x+2\pi) = \cos x = f(x)$ therefore $f$ is periodic of period $2\pi$.
We can therefore reduce the study interval to an interval of length $2\pi$. We choose $[-\pi ; \pi]$.
Derivative:
The cosine function $f$ is differentiable on $\mathbb{R}$ such that $\forall x \in \mathbb{R},\ f'(x) = -\sin x$.
If $x \in [-\pi ; 0]$ then $\sin x \le 0$ therefore $-\sin x \ge 0$ therefore $f'(x) \ge 0$.
If $x \in [0 ; \pi]$ then $\sin x \ge 0$ therefore $-\sin x \le 0$ therefore $f'(x) \le 0$.

Graphical representation:
$f$ is even so its representative curve $\mathcal{C}_f$ is symmetrical with respect to the ordinate axis.
Paridad:
$\forall x \in \mathbb{R},\ f(-x) = \cos(-x) = \cos x = f(x)$ entonces $f$ es par.
Periodicidad:
